Insect Invasion celebrates 15 years — and steps into its next era.
Garry and Josh Pape are in The Leader this week: more than fifteen years of Insect Invasion protecting Barossa homes and businesses, and the start of a new chapter as a father-and-son team.
Some good news from one of the businesses we look after: Insect Invasion is in The Leader this week (page 29), celebrating more than 15 years of protecting homes and businesses across the Barossa. We built and look after their website, so we were chuffed to see Garry and Josh in the paper.
From weekend work to a trusted local name
Owner-operator Garry Pape has been servicing the Barossa and Adelaide since 2009. What started as weekend work grew, job by job, into a trusted local business — built on word of mouth and customers who keep coming back. The work is residential and commercial pest control for spiders, ants, cockroaches, earwigs, millipedes, flies, mosquitoes and rodents, and the promise is personal: as Garry tells the paper, when a customer rings, “they know they’re going to get me.”
A father-and-son team
The next era is a family one. Garry’s son Josh Pape previously worked as a chef, then changed direction, earned his pest-control licence and joined his dad in 2025. With Josh on board, Insect Invasion is growing its reach into Adelaide while Garry keeps servicing the Barossa and surrounds — and the business stays local and family-run, with the same two people taking the calls and doing the treatments. Commercial customers now have a structured monthly rodent-management program too, for ongoing, preventative protection against rats and mice.
