What a tradie website needs in 2026, and what it costs in SA.

Welders, pavers, bathroom renovators, builders and gate makers are most of the businesses we build for. Here is what separates a tradie website that brings in quote requests from one that just sits there, with the real examples and our actual prices.

“Website for tradies” is searched about 1,600 times a month in Australia and “tradie website design” about 390 (Google Ads keyword data, October 2026). Most of those people have been told they need a website and are not sure what it should do. The honest answer: a tradie website has one job, which is to turn a Google search or a word-of-mouth referral into a quote request, from a phone, in under a minute.

Most of the businesses we build for are trades: Iron Works Mobile Welding, May Paving, Becks Bathrooms & Tiling, Spriggs & Co, ASP Build & Co, SA Elite Handyman, Aston Rural Enterprises, Insect Invasion. This is what we have learned building and tracking those sites.

The pages a tradie site actually needs

A home page that says what you do and where, in the first screen, with a phone number that taps to call and a quote button. One page per service you want work for: “leaking shower repairs”, “bull bars”, “farm gates”, not one page that says “all aspects of building”. A page or clear section for each area you genuinely serve. A gallery of real jobs with a line about each. A short about page with your real name and face. Reviews, with names, pulled from Google. That is it. Six to twelve pages for most trades.

Iron Works Mobile Welding: from an average position of 26.5 to 6.1 for “mobile welding adelaide” (Search Console) and in the Mount Barker map box with no reviews yet (live check, 5 Oct 2026); Google clicks up 63% in 28 days.

The quote form is the whole point

A tradie’s customer has a problem they can photograph. The form should let them attach the photos, pick the service, type their suburb and send, with nothing else compulsory. We include a quote form with photo uploads on every build, including the $449 Starter, because it is the single feature that most reliably turns a visit into a job. Barossa Valley Cleaning Services runs its whole quoting on it: snap a few rooms, get a price back.

Behind the form, the enquiry has to arrive. That sounds obvious, but a form that silently drops leads is the most common fault we find on existing tradie sites. Ours send a branded email to the owner, a confirmation to the customer, screen out spam, and hold anything suspicious rather than deleting it.

Local SEO built in, not bolted on

Most tradie work comes through the map box, and the map box is driven by your Google Business Profile, your distance from the searcher and your reviews. The website’s job is to back the profile up: the same business name, phone and address, the same services, the towns you work in written as plain facts, and a page for the suburbs that genuinely send you work.

Becks Bathrooms & Tiling is #1 on Google Maps for “bathroom renovations” and “tiler” around Woodcroft, and #2 in the map box for “bathroom renovations reynella”, searched from Morphett Vale on 5 October 2026. Its Hallett Cove page is a real page about coastal homes and where a bathroom fails first, which is why it is useful and why it was built. Spriggs & Co’s non-branded Google impressions were 3,211 in the 28 days to 3 October 2026, two and a half times the 28 days before, led by suburb searches like “bathroom renovations norwood”.

Aston Rural Enterprises is the newest example. The site went live on 28 September 2026 and a week later was the second organic result for “farm gates barossa” from Angaston and Tanunda. It has no Google Business Profile yet, so it cannot appear in a map box, and that is the next job.

What it costs

Our build prices are published: Starter from $449, Essential from $649, Business from $949, Premium from $1,399 and Signature from $2,299, with online stores from $3,799. Every tier is a custom mobile-first site with the photo-quote form and SEO basics; from Essential up we also set up the Google Business Profile, business email and Search Console. After the free hosting period, a monthly care plan from $40 keeps hosting, the enquiry emails, backups and the monthly report running; the $70 Growth plan adds Google Business Profile upkeep and ongoing local SEO, which is the one we recommend for trades. Full inclusions are on the pricing page.

For comparison, the Adelaide SEO agencies that publish prices start at a median of about $1,350 a month for SEO alone (our survey of 14 agencies, 5 October 2026). A trade business usually does not need that. It needs a site that works, a profile that is set up properly, and someone checking the numbers each month.

Before you brief anyone

Have twenty real job photos on your phone. Write down the six services that make you money and the ten suburbs you want more work from. Know your Google Business Profile login. Decide whose name and face goes on the about page. With those four things, a tradie site can be designed, built and live in a couple of weeks; see our portfolio for what that looks like. If you are in Adelaide and the site is fine but the rankings are not, our SEO for tradies page at Adelaide SEO Services covers that side on its own.
